All Groups are designed to support a range of communication needs in young children. Whether your child is currently receiving Early Intervention services, was evaluated but did not qualify and you still have concerns, or would benefit from additional support with social communication, I am here to help.
These sessions are especially beneficial for children who may be labeling objects or using single words, but are not yet using language functionally to communicate their wants, needs, and ideas. They are also a great fit for children who need extra support with social skills such as engaging with peers, taking turns, and participating in interactions.
Talk time 4 tots was created to provide children with the extra support they need in a small, individualized, and play-based setting, helping them build confidence and develop meaningful communication skills.
Young Pragmatics Group (Ages 18–36 Months)
This small, play based pragmatic language group is designed for toddlers ages 18-36 months who are developing early communication and social skills. Each group includes just four children, allowing for individualized attention and meaningful interaction in a supportive, engaging environment. This 7 week program, held every other Saturday, focuses on building functional language, encouraging children to communicate their wants and needs, engage with others and participate in back-and-forth interactions. Through carefully guided play, children will practice essential skills such as turn taking, joint attention, imitation and early social skills.
Preschool Pragmatics Group (Ages 3–5)
The preschool pragmatic language group is designed for children ages 3–5 who are developing social communication and interaction skills. Each group is intentionally limited to four children, allowing for individualized support. This 7-week program, held every other Saturday, focuses on strengthening functional language, social communication, and peer interaction through engaging, play-based activities. Children will practice skills such as turn-taking, initiating and maintaining interactions, using language for a variety of purposes (e.g., requesting, commenting, and asking questions), and understanding social cues. Sessions incorporate structured play, group routines, and guided activities that encourage cooperation, flexibility, and problem-solving with peers. Each session is tailored to the individual needs of every child, ensuring personalized support within a small group setting.
By combining individualized attention with the natural learning opportunities that come from peer interaction, this group helps children build confidence, develop friendships, and strengthen the communication skills they need for success in everyday settings.
